Generators and specialist power equipment up for auction from Durham House

House of Fraser Lincoln

Durham House in Washington has been a well-known local landmark since the 1970s. The building was once home to the Department for Work and Pensions.

Following its closure in 2022, the building’s specialist power generation, distribution, air conditioning and heating equipment is being sold at auction.

The 160,500 sq ft building was fitted out with various backup power and electrical systems to meet government operating standards, with the auction including the power and HVAC systems used to keep the building running securely and efficiently.

Assets include Petbow generators, Mardix switchgear, Brooke Hansen motors, transformers, chilled water systems, booster pumps, compressors, 3-phase distribution units and Mardix PDUs, all suitable for large-scale facilities management, engineering, utilities and energy-intensive operations.

The auction ends 20 May from 11am.
