Background

Ecco Safety Group was relocating to a new head office and warehousing site in the Leeds area. Due to the relocation, ESG had surplus building fabrications and redundant plant and machinery. The building also needed to be cleared within a restricted time frame.

Situation

Nathaniel Carter & McSkelly Auctioneers had just over a week to auction, decommission and clear the entire building in order for it to be handed back over. ESG requested clearance services due to there being such pressure on getting everything removed as quickly and efficiently as possible. They also wanted the project to return them revenue rather than the removal being costly.

Method

In order to clear the building within the strict deadline, Nathaniel Carter & McSkelly Auctioneers marketed to Mezzanine Flooring and Industrial Pallet Racking dealers and buyers to ensure a sufficient return from assets sold. Although the assets had to be decommissioned and removed within a week we were able to retain a high realisation in price on behalf of our client. We managed to clear the building of office furniture by auctioning this to our database of buyers. We followed the project from start to finish, from initial inspections and valuations through to ensuring that assets were decommissioned and removed correctly.

Results

The main aim of the project was to clear ESG's entire building within a very limited time frame, which Nathaniel Carter & McSkelly Auctioneers managed to successfully achieve. Not only this, but NCM Auctions managed to return revenue to the client due to the flash auction sales generated which were carried out within a period of four days.
