”Over 150 items were purchased by SMEs, whilst over 50 assets were diverted from landfill and given an extended life.”

Overview

Dreamland Margate wanted to reuse their surplus assets in a sustainable manner via the circular economy. The leisure venue engaged the services of NCM Auctions to manage the disposal of surplus catering vans, catering appliances and equipment from their storage facilities. The key outcome for Dreamland was to reuse all assets by selling them to SMEs.

Our Objectives

> Achieve a financial return for the assets

> Provide a complete solution with a single point of contact

> Reuse the assets while supporting a range of downstream SMEs, charities and social enterprises

> Evidence the social, environmental and economic benefits of partnering with NCM Auctions

How we did it

Following an initial online meeting to discuss the asset list, we visited Dreamland to complete the lotting and build the online auction catalogue.

The catalogue went live and a four week marketing plan was executed to drive bidders to the auction which included traditional and digital marketing across commercial auction platforms and social media, focusing on a local demographic to reduce carbon emissions. Collections for purchased assets were organised and overseen by NCM Auctions directly from site.

Marketing

Our marketing campaign ran across a number of platforms including Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Email campaigns and Auction Industry advertising platforms. Our marketing approach led to a huge return on investment for us and our client:

Auction views = 34,202

Unique visits = 5,402

Total bidders = 336
